Backwoods

The artist is Shishkin

In the picture „Forest’s wilderness “, written in 1872, Shishkin, as it were, introduces the viewer under the canopy of the deep northern forest, allowing you to see life going there. And here numerous details do not violate the integrity of the impression. An unhurried, full of significance story, identification of characteristic, simplicity and accessibility of the artistic language – these are the distinctive features of this and many subsequent works. The artist now reproduces nature in the organic relationship of plant forms, giving its living and typical image. His forest is sometimes harsh, but does not suppress a person. He carefully studies the complex interweaving of branches, carefully develops the forefront, achieves the balance of the composition. Its best landscapes are performed by the majestic solemnity. Irina Shuvalova. “What could be better than nature!”// Ivan Shishkin from the collections of the Russian Museum and the Tretyakov Gallery. SPb, 2008. With. 12.
