The artist is Makovsky

Contemporaries noted high picturesque skills and documentary reliability of the artist’s paintings. As an artist K. E. Makovsky formed under the influence of his teachers – m. And. Scotti, a. N. Mokritsky, s. To. Zaryanko. Pupils K. P. Bryullov gave him a tendency to romanticism and interest in the decorative effects that were combined with the enthusiasm of the artist with history and folk life. In one of his early paintings to. E. Makovsky created a thin, poetic image of a very young saleswoman of a herring with a light blush on his cheeks and a meek gaze. The master skillfully written out a colorful scarf, clothes, box behind the girl. For this picture, picture "Poor kids", Portraits of Lieutenant General K.P. Kaufman, General P. And. Rokasovsky, about. N. Voronina in 1867. Makovsky received the title of academician.
